Horror Series 'Chopper' Starring Fright Icon Tyler 'Michael Myers' Mane Draws Over Half Million Views with First Three Episodes While Preparing to Unleash Six More
New Episodes for Horror Series 'Chopper' Were Successfully Resurrected Friday the 13th Weekend in April and Final Episodes Will Continue Haunting Fans Over the Next Two Weeks
LOS ANGELES, April 30, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- DILEMMA (http://www.DilemmaLA.com/), a Los Angeles-based Branded Entertainment and Marketing Communications Agency, resurrected Season 1 of the online horror series CHOPPER over the Friday the 13th weekend in April with videos for the series blasting past a half million views. A successful batch of teaser episodes released last Halloween compelled the producers to retool the show with more episodes, more characters, more VFX and more music and the latest videos continue to spark a groundswell of buzz for the final episodes being released over the next two weeks.
International fright icons Tyler Mane (Michael Myers, Halloween) and Andrew Bryniarski (Leatherface, Texas Chainsaw Massacre) will be joined by rising stars Tim Phillipps (CW's Secret Circle), Victor Newmark (Sons of Anarchy), Ruth Pineda (LA Ink), Quinn Dahle (Conan O'Brien) and others as six new episodes continue to roll out via the project's YouTube Channel. Check out the newest episode - aka "Slice 4" - here:
Marketing support has been provided by brand sponsors including The Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival, Sullen Clothing and others. Promotional and viral videos laying the groundwork for a transmedia-driven backstory have surpassed 1 million cumulative views since CHOPPER content first became available at the launch of last summer's Mayhem Festival. The series also features music and cameos from heavy metal legends Ministry and Machine Head - as well as other insane bands including Unearth, Attika7, The Slow Forward, Lords of Ruin, Dismantled, Underoath, Straight Line Stitch and more.
In essence, Chopper is a contemporary spin on the timeless Sleepy Hollow mythology. Storylines revolve around a headless outlaw biker seeking vengeance in the afterlife by killing mortal sinners. DILEMMA's principal J.C. Christofilis also served as writer, producer and director on the series and worked closely with the Rockstar Mayhem Fest promoters to actually integrate the festival as a pivotal location in the storyline.
J.C. noted, "I have a genuine passion for horror and heavy metal and my intent has always been to create an experience that truly merges the best of both these worlds with an innovative concept perfectly suited for story extensions via online, film, television, music and gaming platforms. The combination of placing iconic Hollywood talent from the horror genre against the premier backdrop for world-class rock bands has resulted in a hardcore cocktail of gut-wrenching gore and ear-splitting tunes that fans are clearly excited about."
The show's producers tested various release patterns and witnessed social media traction as initial episodes for Season 1 were released in a staggered fashion. But with the show finished -- and a rabid fan base firmly in place -- the final five episodes will be unleashed over the next two weeks. J.C. added, "Season 1 of the CHOPPER series has given birth to a fun, original fright icon that has potential to become the next great horror franchise. We're excited to bring fans the explosive end to our first batch of backstories that will enhance the overall experience as CHOPPER's legend continues to grow."
