Occurring this year on November 28, #GivingTuesday kicks off the holiday giving season and inspires us all to support our communities and important charities and causes.

"#GivingTuesday is a wonderful opportunity to reflect together on how we can make a difference in our communities and in the wider world," said Katherine Davies, iguacu's CEO and founder. "So often, giving effectively to overseas crises has proven challenging and frustrating. Not anymore."

"It is now swift and effortless at, enabling the busiest of us to make a difference to those in the greatest need around the world. We can now do more to alleviate human suffering than we ever thought was possible, on #GivingTuesday and any day."

iguacu enables the public to give effectively to regions around the globe where the humanitarian needs are severe — such as Syria, Haiti, Afghanistan, and the Central African Republic. In Syria for example, more than two in three people live in extreme poverty, and half of the people in need are children. Eighty percent of the Syrian population needs humanitarian support.

Informed by an extensive expert network close to what is happening on the ground, iguacu is able to reliably identify truly effective charities working at the heart of these severe humanitarian challenges. Giving through iguacu is restricted to the area in crisis, rather than funding a charity's operations in other areas of the globe.

iguacu is a user-centered 501(c)(3) independent non-profit. An innovator in the humanitarian sector, iguacu ensures donors are well looked after, their privacy is protected and they are never bothered by incessant communications. Monthly donors receive monthly impact reports in their email and an annual statement in January.

By making it a joy to give, and effortless for the time-poor, iguacu seeks to grow large scale effective public giving to where the needs are truly great.
