Chinatown Summer Nights Returns To LA Chinatown For Three Unforgettable Nights
LOS ANGELES, June 5, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Back by popular demand, the third annual Chinatown Summer Nights presented by the Chinatown BID and KCRW 89.9 promises to be spectacular with a fresh lineup of great food, art and music. Part food event, part summer party, Chinatown Summer Nights offers Los Angeles a truly unique and immersive experience outside of the usual summer festival fare. Adding upon the success of last year's event, CSN is coming back for a total of four events occurring the second and fourth Saturday in July 28 and August 11 & 25 from 5 p.m. to midnight. Each event is represented by a different element: Earth, Water, Air and Fire.
Event producer Chinatown Business Improvement District will bring another unforgettable series to Chinatown, with DJs from acclaimed Los Angeles public radio station KCRW (89.9 FM and KCRW.com) providing the soundtrack. Music combined with interactive art pulses through all four nights—from dancing on Chinatown's large outdoor dance floor with KCRW DJs Jason Bentley, Anthony Valadez, Jeremy Sole, Valida and Aaron Byrd providing the soundtrack, to curated large-scale outdoor video projections.
Attendees will get a chance to taste the many culinary offerings of Chinatown through Iron Chef-style cooking competitions; eat at local restaurants serving authentic Chinese and Asian cuisine; enjoy microbrews at the outdoor craft beer garden and nosh on LA's best gourmet food trucks.
These events are perfect for all ages, from hands-on cultural workshops and activities to shopping at the LA Craft Experience market, featuring local designers and artists, and at nearby Chinatown merchants.
This event is free and open to all ages. Bike racks and plenty of street and lot parking available. Metro patrons: take the Gold Line and exit at Chinatown Station. Map it: 943 – 951 N. Broadway, Los Angeles, 90012 in Central and West Plazas. For more information visit www.chinatownla.com or www.chinatownsummernights.com
