Mayor of London Throws His Weight Behind Technology Startups at InnoTech Summit
British tech startup companies win opportunity to pitch to major investors; industry leaders discuss the future of UK hi-tech enterprise.
Founded by Hult International Business School MBA student Jennifer Arcuri, the InnoTech Summit aims to create a platform for promising technology start-ups to network with venture capitalists, technology angels and successful entrepreneurs to get their ideas off the ground. Johnson will talk about how startup talent is essential in capitalising on the digital revolution and emphasise the importance for London in creating its own hub for development.
Speaking at 9.30am, Johnson will kick off a schedule encompassing speakerships and panel discussions from some of the industry's leading players. Among the line up is a variety of investors and entrepreneurs giving tips on how to get companies funded as well as keynotes from the likes of Milo Yiannopoulos, former national newspaper journalist and current Editor-in-Chief of The Kernel.
The event will also see shortlisted entries to the InnoTech Summit startup competition present their ideas to a panel of investors in a closed pitch. Five companies have been selected to compete for three business starter packages including mentoring and office space offered by Innovation Warehouse. Shortlisted companies are AirPartol, EyeCamera, LaCubanada, TasterLab, UVuu.me. The winner of the competition will be announced on the day of the event at 3.30pm.
