AURORA, Ohio, May 2, 2012 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Independent Energy Consultants, Inc. is pleased to announce that it has brokered an electric supply agreement for the Northern Illinois Governmental Electric Aggregation Consortium (NIGEAC).  Electricity flow under the new agreement is scheduled to begin in July 2012.  Mark Burns, President of Independent Energy Consultants said, "We are delighted to have brokered an extremely low fixed-rate of 4.169 cents/kWh.  This rate is 46% below the current comparable rate from the local utility company and much lower than rates being offered to individual residential customers."  Burns added, "Based on publicly available information, this also appears to be the lowest rate for any Governmental Aggregation Program in the State of Illinois."  Residents in the NIGEAC member communities will receive an opt-out letter in the upcoming weeks that details the rates and terms and conditions of the offer as well as the means to opt-out if they choose not to participate.
