HealthLease Properties REIT to ring TSX opening bell Wednesday
TORONTO, Aug. 6, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- HealthLease Properties REIT will open the market of the Toronto Stock Exchange Wednesday morning to celebrate the listing and trading of HealthLease REIT shares. Common shares of the REIT commenced trading on the TSX Exchange June 20, 2012, under the ticker symbol "HLP.UN."
Cicero, Indiana-based senior housing and care developer Mainstreet Property Group, LLC, led by chairman & CEO Zeke Turner, indirectly holds an interest in the REIT through the ownership of Class B limited partnership units of a subsidiary of the REIT.
"The aging of the North American population combined with a lack of new construction starts has created a significant need for more seniors housing and care facilities, especially for those properties that meet the high standards of today's seniors," Turner said. "Our portfolio of best-in-class facilities and our differentiated business model uniquely positions HealthLease to capitalize on this opportunity, while still delivering stable, reliable distributions and strong growth potential.
"The HealthLease Properties REIT team is thrilled to participate in Wednesday's opening of the Toronto Stock Exchange," Turner concluded.
Turner will be joined by members of management and the HealthLease REIT Board to open the market.
Video and photos of the opening will be available by 11 am on Wednesday morning.
