Innovative Campaign Aims to Raise $1,000,000

LOVELAND, Colo., April 30, 2012 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- United We Give, a unique charitable giving program from payment and credit card processing solutions provider Payment Solutions, will enable businesses across the country to donate to their local United Way organizations to support their community without any additional cost to them. The initial goal for the program is to donate one million dollars to United Way.

With United We Give, a portion of the credit card transaction fees paid by member businesses is donated to the United Way organization designated by each business every time a customer uses a credit card. There are no added costs to the customer or to the business members of United We Give.

United We Give enables businesses to support United Way and benefit their communities without affecting their bottom line. "We know a lot of our customers would love to give more to their community, but because times are tight, they just can't afford it," said Payment Solutions CEO and United We Give founder Ken Salazar, who is also on the board of directors for United Way of Weld County (Colo.). "United We Give gives them that chance. They feel good that they can contribute and the community benefits."

Because the program is transaction based, the more frequently customers use credit cards at participating businesses, the more money will go to United Way. "It's the power of community coming together," said Salazar. "People can support local businesses and their own community by buying the goods and services that they would normally purchase. It's a win-win situation."

"United Way of Weld County is very excited about the potential of the United We Give partnership with Payment Solutions. It has tremendous implications not only for our United Way but also for hundreds of communities throughout our country," commented Jeannine Truswell, executive director of United Way of Weld County. "United Ways are separate independent charitable organizations typically defined by a geographic area. As a network we share common concerns for children, youth and families in our separate communities. The generosity of Payment Solutions will have a significant impact on our developing solutions and achieving results in these areas."
