Reach for the Top: Regional Conference Scholarship opportunity now open
Conference entry fee and stipend available to one undergraduate and one graduate student
CLEVELAND, May 2, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Students intending to enter the communications profession need to be better prepared than ever before. For undergraduate and graduate students in Northeast Ohio who want to enhance their marketability, the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Cleveland chapter is offering special scholarships. The scholarships will provide one undergraduate and one graduate student with registration to the 7th Annual IABC Heritage Conference, Oct. 14-16 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, as well as a $250 stipend.
The Heritage Conference brings together top speakers and leaders in corporate communications, public relations, employee communications, marketing communications, member communications, social media and more. Each year, the conference offers special programming for students to prepare for the workforce.
"We want students who are finishing their degrees to learn about current issues in our profession," says Stephen Clark, president, IABC Cleveland. "We think that one way we can contribute is by offering to send them to our regional conference to meet successful communications professionals and learn about best practices being applied in real-world situations."
The scholarship is open to Northeast Ohio students. Entry deadline is Friday, May 18. If you think you could benefit, check out the details and fill out a short application.
Hear from last year's scholarship winners, Brittany Tyree and Brian Bayer.
The scholarship recipients will be announced at IABC Cleveland's annual awards and networking event, Reach for the Top. The event is being held Thursday, June 7th at the Velvet Dog in Cleveland, Ohio. Details about Reach for the Top can be found on the chapter's website at www.IABCCleveland.com .
