Industry Dive Raises $400K, Launches B2B Industry Dashboards for Smartphones and Tablets

 
 

Online media company makes it easy for the un-tethered executive to stay informed

WASHINGTON, March 13, 2012 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Industry Dive, a business-to-business online media company, announced today it raised $400,000 to build mobile dashboards for the world's biggest industries.  To date, Industry Dive has launched five titles: Construction Dive, Utility Dive, Marketing Dive, Education Dive, and Waste Management Dive. 

Studies show that 82% of executives own smart phones[1] and 59% are using them to research purchase decisions[2].  "Most executives love using their smartphone or tablet, but there isn't a great place to get the important information about your industry," said CEO of Industry Dive, Sean Griffey.  "Industry Dive dashboards solve that problem.  We empower executives to use their devices as a more effective work tool." 

By the end of the year, the company plans to have dashboards for 12 industries that you can access via mobile website, mobile app, desktop site, and e-newsletter.  "Business professionals have a variety of consumption habits and information needs," said Griffey.  "The dashboard combines breaking news, curated twitter feeds, jobs, market snapshots, and research tools.  Industry Dive connects you to your industry no matter where you are, in whichever manner you prefer."

The $400,000 in seed funding comes from a group of D.C.-based angel investors led by Cal Simmons.  The capital will be used to expand the team, continue development of its product, and launch into new markets.
