China Shen Zhou Subsidiary Xiangzhen Mining Announces it Will Resume Production in March


BEIJING, Feb. 29, 2012 /PRNewswire-Asia-FirstCall/ -- China Shen Zhou Mining & Resources, Inc. ("China Shen Zhou", or the "Company") (NYSE Amex: SHZ), a company engaged in the exploration, development, mining and processing of fluorite, barite, zinc, copper, and other nonferrous metals in China, today announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Xiangzhen Mining Group Co., Ltd ("Xiangzhen Mining"), based in Inner Mongolia, is on track to resume production on March 1st, 2012, following the Spring Festival break. Xiangzhen has one of the largest fluorite mine in mineral-rich northern China.

Ms. Xiaojing Yu, Chief Executive Officer of China Shen Zhou, commented, "Through its recent acquisition of a 60% ownership of three mining companies in Guizhou earlier this year, Xiangzhen has not only increased its fluorite resources and strengthened its leadership in fluorite industry, but also obtained the resources and technologies needed to enter the barite mining and processing industry and the fluorine chemical industry, which is a downstream sector from the fluorite mining and production industry. China Shen Zhou is collaborating with local governments and both upstream and downstream partners to build a high quality fluorite and barite mining processing chain as well as a barium salt processing center in China."
