CHICAGO, May 1, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --  On May 5-6, 2012, Chicago's Polish-American Community will celebrate the commemoration of the Polish Constitution of 1791 – the first democratic constitution in all of Europe and the second in the world only after the Constitution of the United States.

Polish MayFest will be celebrated May 5th and 6th at Copernicus Center located at 5216 W. Lawrence Avenue in Chicago. This exciting weekend long celebration will feature delicious Polish food and beer, special activities for children, and nonstop world music on both indoor and outdoor stages by award-winning bands from Poland as well as local fan favorites!

Participants may also enjoy a variety of cultural song & dance performances including a spectacular multimedia dance presentation of Polish history as presented by the "Polonia" dance ensemble along with renowned Chicago actors.

Headlining musicians coming from Poland include DAAB (Polish reggae legend), Trebunie-Tutki (famous Highlander musical family) and AudioFeels (award-winning vocal play group).

Local bands include Meqitza Quartet (dynamic jazz-folk with a gypsy soul), Black Bear Combo (punk rock meets folk), and Rebel Roots (reggae).

Children will be entertained on their very own Krakus Kids' Stage with interactive live theater, animal magic shows, balloon sculpting, dance workshops and more!
