TAG Heuer Watches Fresh From the Fair
LONDON, May 1, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --
TAG HEUER'S2012 WATCH COLLECTION IS NOW AVAILABLE ON THE WATCHES OF SWITZERLAND WEBSITE.
If you follow the watch industry, you'll know that it can be a while before new watches unveiled at the annual watch fairs in Basel and Geneva become available to the watch-buying public.
But that's not always the case.
This year, we're proud to announce we have a selection from the new TAG Heuer collection available to purchase on our website. We're only able to do this because of the relationships we've built up with the brands over the decades (we've been in the watch business since 1924) - we're an official retailer of TAG Heuer watches (http://www.watches-of-switzerland.co.uk/brands/tag-heuer-watches ) and have an unrivalled relationship with the famous brand.
Jack Heuer had a hand in designing the limited edition watch that marks his 80th birthday.
For us, the highlight from TAG Heuer's new collection was the limited edition Carrera (http://www.watches-of-switzerland.co.uk/brands/tag-heuer-watches/carrera ) launched to mark Jack Heuer's 80th birthday. Heuer was the original architect of the Carrera line, which first appeared in 1964 before becoming one of the iconic watch designs. The new model looks fittingly retro, with a traditional two-counter chronograph, vintage pushbuttons and a grey sunburst dial that offsets superbly against the red elements. The case back features Jack Heuer's signature - also in red.
The Carrera Calibre 1887 (http://www.watches-of-switzerland.co.uk/brands/tag-heuer-watches/carrera/carrera-calibre-1887-automatic-chronograph ) line got a boost too. This year's new pieces still feature the brand's in-house column-wheel chronograph movement, but a simple dial tweak has given the watch a different dynamic. Last year's pieces had italicised Arabic numerals on a guilloché dial - this year they're upright and the dial is plain, creating a more reserved, but no less appealing aesthetic.
The other big TAG Heuer story this year was the launch of a new collection, the slinky, glamorous Link Lady. Hollywood A-Lister Cameron Diaz was flown in for the announcement at Baselworld and will be the face of the campaign promoting the line. Link Lady pieces aren't available on our website just yet - delivery is expected in the summer.
This year TAG Heuer launched the new Link Lady collection, available from Watches of Switzerland later this summer
