WASHINGTON, Feb. 29, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Regester Larkin Americas has appointed a new Director, John P. "Pat" Philbin, Ph.D., to lead its growing crisis management and crisis communication practice in the Americas.
Pat has over 25 years' experience managing high-profile crises including the loss of the space shuttle Challenger, oil spills in the Gulf of Mexico and several aircraft accidents. Pat will divide his time between Regester Larkin Americas' main office in Washington, D.C. and its new office in Houston, which will open in April (2012) but will serve clients across North and South America. He will provide client counsel on all aspects of emergency response, crisis communication and crisis management preparedness as well as strategic communication and reputation management.
"Very few people have Pat's experience in leading and managing so many large-scale, high-profile crises," said Regester Larkin Americas' Managing Director Kirk Sherr.
"His extensive experience in the U.S. Coast Guard and at the Federal Emergency Management Agency means that he has invaluable insight into many of the regulatory, communication and operational challenges companies face today. Pat will play a central role in helping our clients to earn, maintain and expand their license to operate in the markets in which they operate."
Prior to joining Regester Larkin Americas, Pat consulted to C-level executives and senior government officials in the areas of crisis and risk management, media and employee relations, and reputation management and strategic planning. He has extensive experience in facilitating multi-agency crisis simulations, scenario planning, issues management in complex stakeholder environments and advising on corporate crisis preparedness.
