AmeriCatalyst Announces "The Entanglement" + "Renting the Future" - Sept. 30 - Oct. 2, 2012
AmeriCatalyst 2012 to feature a keynote address from hedge fund manager Kyle Bass
AUSTIN, TX, June 20, 2012 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- AmeriCatalyst LLC proudly announces "AmeriCatalyst 2012 | The Entanglement: How globalization shapes the future of housing and housing finance," the tenth anniversary of the landmark EuroCatalyst/AmeriCatalyst conference series which started in 2002 in Madrid, Spain. Featuring a keynote address by famed hedge fund manager Kyle Bass of Hayman Capital Management, the event will take place Sunday, September 30 through Tuesday, October 2 at the Barton Creek Resort and Spa in Austin, Texas.
"In 2002, we themed the entire event with a very provocative question: 'Will European mortgage markets survive globalization?'" EuroCatalyst/AmeriCatalyst founder and CEO Toni Moss said. "Given the dramatic backdrop of the global economy today, with central banks and investors around the world creating contingencies for economic catastrophe and contagion in Europe, the timing and content of this year's event could not be more relevant."
In addition, AmeriCatalyst 2012 will also feature a half-day microconference on the emerging REO-to-Rental sector. "AmeriCatalyst IN FOCUS: Renting the Future" will take place immediately after the main event on Tuesday, October 2.
AmeriCatalyst is pleased to welcome back Bass, a three-time event alumnus, for the tenth anniversary keynote address. Bass' on-stage interviews from previous AmeriCatalyst events have garnered attention from world press, and received over 200,000 online views.
AmeriCatalyst 2012 will also feature over 60 expert panelists, including Ted Tozer (GNMA), Laurie Goodman (Amherst Securities Group), and Mark Fleming (CoreLogic), debating the most important industry issues and collaborating on ideas for U.S. housing recovery and sustainability.
It is not just the caliber of speakers that sets AmeriCatalyst apart, however, it is also the caliber of the audience. Invitations to AmeriCatalyst events are exclusive, and extended only to hand-selected participants who are the brightest and most powerful minds in banking, mortgage origination, servicing, policy making, government regulation, investing, and academia. Delegates interact directly with panelists in real-time via anonymous, closed-circuit chat, making the audience as much a part of the debate as the speakers on stage.
"The housing and housing finance industry is crucial to socioeconomic and political stability, and the forces of globalization are so pervasive and powerful that no one is truly an expert on the topic," Moss said. "We deliberately challenge the audience to think about these topics in a larger frame of reference, which naturally changes the way they view the industry and the world around them."
