Sustainable Business Network of Greater Philadelphia recognizes Power for commitment to corporate social responsibility and volunteer programs
CHESTER, Pa., March 15, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Power Home Remodeling Group, the nation's fourth largest home remodeling company, was recognized with the Ideal Employer Award by the Sustainable Business Network of Greater Philadelphia for its participation in the 2011 Social Impact Campaign that provides a variety of career training programs to help individuals in a challenging job market — demonstrating the company's commitment to corporate social responsibility and community development.
As part of the campaign, which ran from July 2011 until January 2012, Power employees volunteered their time to provide job-training services to the clients of the Federation of Neighborhood Centers, a multi-service agency serving Philadelphians living in impoverished neighborhoods. Their training program works with individuals who are developing the skills they need to be competitive for jobs in traditional and emerging clean industries.

Power's Talent Acquisition team hosted several mock interview sessions with Federation students in South Philadelphia and at Power's headquarters in Chester. Power employees spent time running through various interview scenarios and providing insight and recommendations, listening to student aspirations and goals, and sharing their personal experience and advice on how to begin and sustain a successful career.
