AARP Serves Up Race-by-Race Analysis of Idaho's Most Powerful Voting Group

New Breakdown Shows Force of 50+ in Every State Legislative Race – Reminds Candidates Voting Group will Determine Winners

BOISE, Idaho, May 14, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- In less than 24 hours, primary voting in Idaho will begin and one thing is near certain – the state's 50+ voters are expected to turn out in droves in every legislative district.

Today, AARP is serving up a strong reminder for all candidates of the influence of the 50+ vote.  The Association is releasing a new district-by-district analysis of the role the voting demographic has played in primary elections across the Gem State over the last eight years.

AARP recently released its first ever Gem State Primary Election Voters' Guides for every state legislative race, highlighting issues the 50+ are looking  for candidates to address on the campaign trail: where the candidates stand on ensuring consumers have a stronger voice in utility rate hike cases; if they'll support creating a health insurance marketplace to help state consumers find better prices on health care; and how they'll support home and community based services for elderly and disabled Idahoans. The voters' guides are available online: http://aarp.thevoterguide.org/v/aarpus/index.do.
