Momentum Continues To Build For Federal Plan Of Action For Lung Cancer -- Advocate Voices Play Leading Role
Over a Dozen New Members of Congress Added to the Lung Cancer Mortality Reduction Act
WASHINGTON, May 18, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- As Congress prepares for its Memorial Day District Work Period, Lung Cancer Alliance (LCA) announced that more than a dozen Congressional leaders have signed on as new co-sponsors of the Lung Cancer Mortality Reduction Act.
This comes on the heels of Lung Cancer Alliance's fifth annual advocacy conference, recently held in Washington, DC. Over 140 advocates participated, from as far west as Hawaii to as far east as New Hampshire.
The Lung Cancer Mortality Reduction Act, S.752 and H.R.1394 respectively, is the first-ever legislation calling for a coordinated and comprehensive federal plan to address all aspects of lung cancer.
