Jamie Rice joins Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota as chief financial officer
EAGAN, Minn., May 21, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota (Blue Cross) today announced the appointment of Jamie Rice as its senior vice president, chief financial officer. In this role, he will be responsible for providing leadership for financial controls and systems, financial planning, tax, treasury, investments, corporate finance, actuarial and underwriting.
Rice comes to Blue Cross after four years as principal and chief financial officer at the Minneapolis-based private capital investment firm Yukon Partners, where he was responsible for finance, fund accounting, limited partner reporting, investor relations and transaction due diligence. For the previous seven years, he worked for UnitedHealth Group where he held several positions, including CFO and vice president of finance of UnitedHealthcare's commercial business; CFO of UnitedHealth Networks; and director of corporate development for UnitedHealth Group. Before joining UnitedHealth, Mr. Rice worked as a manager of strategic planning at Best Buy. From 1992 to 2000, he worked at Arthur Andersen in audit and in its transaction advisory services area. Mr. Rice is active in the community and serves as treasurer and board member for Second Harvest Heartland, the Upper Midwest's largest hunger relief organization.

Rice holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of St. Thomas, where he graduated magna cum laude. Rice will join the organization on June 18.
