QualiSystems Improves Network Lab Setup, Collaboration and Testing with Latest Software Framework
New version of TestShell enhances user experience to accelerate lab management and automation with interactive topology design capabilities, new and upgraded traffic libraries and in-depth lab operation analysis dashboards
SANTA CLARA, California, July 31, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --
QualiSystems today announced the availability of its TestShell 4.8 comprehensive software framework for lab management, device provisioning and test automation. The latest TestShell framework includes many new and upgraded features aiming to significantly reduce the time spent on topology creation, improve team collaboration and increase user flexibility.
TestShell 4.8 includes substantial enhancements to the interactive topology diagram for a better user experience. For example, the upgraded, intuitive features guarantee fast comprehension of active reservations by enabling direct viewing of the type of connectivity used i.e. a route / tapping etc. as well as fast tracking of connected and disconnected routes. With direct drag-and-drop from a powerful device search grid, network engineers can reduce setup creation and/or modification time.
Simplified automation tools include a set of new and upgraded libraries for a smoother interaction with lab devices. The SNMP Manager Library simplifies the usage of SNMP Network Protocols (v1/v2c/v3) enabling users to easily reach network-related information and optionally activate automatic SNMP retries. In addition, users can enhance listening and capturing, on any trap field.
The upgraded traffic libraries include out-of-the box support for leading traffic generators, such as: IxLoad, IxNetwork, Ixia Test Composer, TestCenter and more, to optimize testing and therefor the health of the network infrastructure.
Users can maximize device utilization with the new capability to share devices and routes at the same time. In addition, user work processes are accelerated through the ability to initiate automatically provisioning procedures to setup testing environments at the beginning of a reservation.
Lab managers can now access in depth business intelligence on their lab operation and spot various reservation trends via TestShell advanced reporting and online dashboards. Additionally, the available API calls have doubled enabling users to automatically access the new capabilities related to administration, topology control operations, management and reporting.
"The new TestShell 4.8 framework continues QualiSystems' commitment to helping customers test their network infrastructure more effectively, while leveraging existing resources," says Eitan Lavie, QualiSystems vice president of product management and marketing. "With a friendlier user interface and a multitude of new features designed to enhance user experience, TestShell accelerates and simplifies the testing process, and guarantees the most powerful performance framework available in the market today."
