DataTracks India sponsored and participated in "Jagruti - A New Awakening," a national conference for Women Chartered Accountants hosted in Chennai by The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI)

CHENNAI, India, March 22, 2012 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- The focus of the event was on potential opportunities for Women practicing as public accountants.  Domain experts from various areas, including information technology, made presentations on the emergence of new opportunities for public accountants stemming from emergence of complex reporting standards and convergence of these standards around  the World.  DataTracks had an information kiosk set up during the event for the benefit of participants who required additional information on XBRL, and also to showcase DataTracks' range of free XBRL templates and XBRL software and managed services.

The conference was a success with more than 300 delegates, all women, participating in the event. The Southern India Regional Council of the ICAI coordinated the conduct of the conference.  More than 6,500 of the 40,000 Chartered Accountants registered with the Southern India Regional Council are women.  Chennai city has more than 2,000 women members working in business enterprises or practicing as public accountants.

The highlight of the event was a presentation and knowledge sharing session on XBRL by Ms. Sneha Rajagopal, Vice President, XBRL Services, DataTracks India.  Speaking at the event, Sneha said, "Worldwide adoption of XBRL as the standard for dissemination and analysis of financial data provides an excellent opportunity for Chartered Accountants.  There are more than 900,000 companies in India.  Eventually, each of these 900,000 companies will have to file financial statements with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs in XBRL format.  This provides a great opportunity for Chartered Accountants in practice.  Though the technology is relatively new, it is quite easy to understand and implement in a small office.  DataTracks provides a web portal where you can convert simpler statements free of cost and more complex statements by using a web based tool.  Of course DataTracks would be very happy to do all the work for you for very complex financial statements."
