Chevy prepares to ship 2013 Malibu cars to dealers

SAN ANTONIO, June 21, 2012 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- The next versions of the 2013 Chevy Malibu are on their way this summer to Tom Benson Chevrolet, the premier San Antonio Chevy dealer. The dealership has stocked the Chevy Malibu Eco in San Antonio for a few months now, and the staff is excited to see the full lineup hit the lot soon.

The new Malibu will be offered in the following trims: LS (1LS trim), LT (1LT trim), LT (2LT trim), Eco (1SA trim), Eco (2SA trim), LT (3LT trim with turbo), LTZ (1LZ trim), LTZ (2LZ trim with turbo). Chevy has announced a modest starting price for the new Malibu, which will be offered with a plethora of new options and features.

All of the 2013 Malibu models offer Chevy's new Ecotec 2.5-liter engine standard except the Eco, which has a 2.4-liter Ecotec with eAssist. The standard engine will offer 197 horsepower, which is a significant upgrade from the previous model. This engine will also put the Malibu's fuel economy in the mid-30s range.

While the buzz continues about the 2013 Malibu, the current 2012 Chevy Malibu on the lot at Tom Benson Chevrolet is still earning awards. It was recently honored as the highest-performing midsize car in the 2012 J.D. Power and Associates Initial Quality Study.
